Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and to handle corrections or feedback.
Calculators
Our calculators run entirely in your web browser. The numbers you type into them are not sent to our server and are not stored by us.
Technical information
Like most websites, our hosting provider’s servers automatically record basic technical information when pages are requested, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These server logs are used to operate and secure the site and to diagnose problems. Our pages also request rate data from our own server; these requests do not identify you.
Cookies
We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Our content management system may set functional cookies for administrators who sign in. Our caching system may set technical cookies needed for the site to work.
Analytics and advertising
We do not currently use analytics services or display personalized advertising. If we add services such as website analytics or advertising networks (for example, Google AdSense) in the future, we will update this policy before doing so to describe the data those services collect, the cookies they use, and the choices available to you, including any consent required by law.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the site, such as our web host, to the extent needed to provide their services, or when required by law.
Data retention
We keep emails only as long as needed to respond and keep a record of corrections. Server logs are kept by our host for a limited period for security and operations.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us. Depending on where you live, including certain U.S. states, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. We will respond to verifiable requests as required by applicable law.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Links to other sites
We link to official sources such as the U.S. Department of the Treasury and TreasuryDirect. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
